This is an example of a glass handrail that was added to an existing redwood deck in the back yard. The glass is 3/8 clear tempered,

The handrail on this project starts on one end of the deck and extends for almost 90 feet around it's perimeter.

The steel stanchions used for this glass guardrail were designed by the homeowner and manufactured by a local steel fabricator.

As you can see, the glass in this handrail is so clear that it is nearly invisible, and barely shows up in many of these photographs.

This long-time customer contacted us during the development stage of the project, so we were able to help with the troubleshooting.

Even the pets loved the work we did on this project!

Remodel - Project Overview:

This project is located in Felton, California. The redwood deck that you see here originally had a wooden handrail. We were hired to install the glass windscreen that is now in place. The steel stanchions were designed by the homeowner. A steel fabricator was hired to produce the posts, and a local finishing company was hired to powder coat them to the homeowners specifications.

The glass that you see here is 3/8" clear tempered. The edges are "flat polished." The glass windscreen provides an incredible amount of protection from the wind, as well as safety, while providing an unparalleled view of the surrounding landscape.
